• In the mid-1990s Asbury Hospital and St. John’s Hospital merged to form the non-profit entity called Salina Regional Health Center, Inc. A deliberate by product of this merger was the creation of Salina Surgical Hospital.
• Salina Surgical Hospital was developed in March 1998 and opened in November 1999.
• Salina Surgical Hospital L.L.C. (SSH) started out as an 8-bed Multi-Specialty Surgical Hospital with 10 specialties.
• Eight more inpatient beds were added in late 2005 along with the addition of Neurology as a specialty.
• SSH currently performs over 8,000 procedures a year.

Opening our doors in 1999, Salina Surgical Hospital was the concept of a group of local physicians and Salina Regional Health Center. The two parties formed a joint venture to develop a state of the art entity with the objective to provide the highest level of care and comfort to its patients while providing the highest quality medical care at a reasonable cost.
